The Repacked Podcast is a weekly podcast about Toys, Action Figures, Dolls, Brick-toys and all that plastic crack that we, your hosts, spend waaaay too much of our hard earned cash on.
After we heroically resisted against the temptation of doing a NEW 52 Episode, we triumphantly return to the Repacked Podcast on episode THE NEW 53!! Join Stu (Octane), Paul (Igadevil) and Albie as they fight for JUSTICE!

After the dismissal of DX9’s Invisible (Not-Mirage) and Warbotron’s take on the Combaticons in Episode 46, I felt like I needed to write in. My definition of Masterpiece based on scale to MP-10 as well as a level of design and engineering. DX9’s height is 6.4″. Mania King (not-Galvatron) is over 7″ and I know no one who has him in a Masterpiece display. I’ve pre ordered Invisible to replace my classics Mirage who reflects toy engineering from 2006.
A complaint was made on the amount of detail on the Warbotron line. Google a tank and a race car. They’re being fairly accurate to the vehicle they’re trying to represent.
In a larger sense, why are 3rd Party Masterpieces necessary? Since the line “got serious” with MP-10, Takara is averaging ~3 characters a year with a heavy reliance on reuse of mold. At this pace, it would take over 20 years to produce the characters from the G1 line from 1984-85. They’ve showed no signs of increasing production, in fact they’ve lost one of the top designers. RID and live action movies are Takara and Hasbro’s main priority. If fans are looking to have a robust Masterpiece collection, someone’s going to have to pick up the slack.
Really enjoyed the last show, and I laugh out loud at Nikki’s ad! Seriously, what does this guy do for a living? He’s good at doing voices, accents, and he sings too! Could I suggest in future episode maybe Nik can do an ad using Japanese accents!
Anyway, I notice a lot of you guys are really into transformers, and I was wondering, what drives you to continue collecting this franchise. Is it the cartoon, the toy itself, Im pretty sure it’s not those awful Michael Bay films!
Lastly, I was wondering if you could consider inviting guests into the podcast. Would really like to hear discussions of other toyline aside from Kamen Rider, Legos, Macross, Transformers, and all the others that you always talk about.
Thanks again for the many hours of entertainment you guys provide! This is one podcast I always look forward to listening!
