Hello Repacked Podcast crew! I return with another question. I recently purchased the Marvel Legends Marvel Now Captain America. I can say this is the best Cap figure I have ever messed around with (even better than the Face-Off). This figure has become my new “default” Cap, The one I put on my desk instead of my shelf so I can admire its beauty for a long time. So my question is: Do you guys have certain figures you consider to be your default version of that character and what makes it stand above other versions of that character? As Always thanks for reading and keep up the great work!
P.S. It’s great to hear Paul back on the show.
Don’t get me wrong– I wanted to like him. I wanted to like him really, really bad, because I need a new Optimus Prime. Except I opened him up, noticed the cardboard-box-stack proportions, the lack of wrist swivels, the bizarre thin-stick of a weapon, and decided to just stick with the Henkei.
Sorry, Albie =(
( You’re welcome, Craig =) )
On a more serious note– here is a question:
I know you guys are big on doing these awesome paint jobs on your figures.
I have difficulty with paint jobs myself, so I veered more towards knifing, drilling and disassembly / reassembly when I “improve” pieces of my collection. I’ve gone so far as to risk outright compromising the physical structure of some parts, but the risk has sometimes paid off in greatly improved articulation.
My question is: How far are you guys generally willing to go when you customise your toys? Would you be cool with cutting into a toy’s forearm, or shaving off part of a hip socket in order to improve articulation? Or do you prefer to just leave toys mostly as they were designed, even though it means you miss out on a couple of poses?
