Best Figure: Thundercats Classics Lion-O (great to have this guy in scale with my MOTUC)
Best Vehicle: Masters of the Universe Classics Roton (great update to an iconic MOTU vehicle, great sculpt, comes with a new figure; the Skelcon, still has its action feature of the spinning blade, comes with an articulated flight stand)
Best Robot: Titans Return Soundwave (my fave TF character ever and a nice new big version of him)
Best Line: Four Horsemen’s Mythic Legions (great new 6″ line from the 4H that deals with my fave genre; sword and sorcery, great sculpts, articulation, paint, great range of characters: so far there’s dwarves, knights, skeletons, orcs, evil knights, a vampire
Best old toy: So last spring, I believe in March, I went to a fairly large toy show called the Columbus Toy Show, it’s put on twice a year and me and some of the Star Joes guys try to go to at least one of them, anyways I picked up the Hasbro WWF Roddy Piper, the showtime Beetlejuice from Kenner and Toxie from the Toxic Crusaders toy line, all three are on card and I’m choosing all 3, cuz they’re all equally great and crazy 90s goodness, all three cards and bubbles are very nice and they’re were all fairly cheap
Most Anticipated: series two of Mythic Legions (still waiting on giant Trolls which is still series one, series 2 will have Elves and more that still hasn’t been revealed)
And at that toy show I also bought this TMNT hockey player Leo, Leo is my fave turtle and ice hockey is my fave sport, I’ve played it all my life
Still reeling from the deluge of news discussed in the Tamashii show we jump back into our acquisitions. Kyle backs team Cap, Sal feels trapped by his jaw, Vince goes for the gold in Barbados, and boy can Craig Drag-on. The extraordinary fanboy then delivers an unintentional double dose of crack as we plan to play Repacked Monopoly and discuss the latest boy band to come on the scene.
Here’s a deep personal secret of mine that I have never told anyone, mostly ‘because no one would care: I have never finished a game of Monopoly.
I know, I know, but honestly I have never found the game to be particularly engaging, in fact I don’t think I’ve seen anyone playing it in years, which is why I am more than baffled that there are currently like a million, billion different versions of the game out there, from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Mass Effect. Seriously, Zelda Monopoly I could understand but Street Fighter Monopoly? How does that even work!?
Anyways, my question for you is, Is there any particular reason for this Monopoly revival? Like, did the game suddenly got much more entertaining or is there some sort of underground, Fight Club-esque ring of monopoly players that I am unaware of? I am still not playing the game but I would really like to know.
And speaking of things I would like to know for no real reason…
BONUS CRACK QUESTION:
If democracy suddenly collapsed and were replaced with a global Dance-based monarchy, which toys from your collection (at least two) would you choose to be part of your very own Dance troupe?
PS: Abruptly changing the subject, I liked Batman V Superman but the editing on that movie was downright terrible.
Hoping for a Batman V Monopoly movie, Ivanhobe, The Extraordinary Fanboy.
In this show we try to recover from our recent losses and heal our wounds by discussing our latest toys. Andy parties “Filmation Style”, Kyle still tries to justify his Black series purchases to himself, Vince tells us that he waves a gun around his neighborhood, and Craig open his wound even wider with an on air breakage that even a medic can’t heal.
